Generate income by displaying banner ads on your apps or websites.

Generating income with banner ads can be a great way to monetize and make the most of the traffic on your apps or websites. Although banner ads typically have lower eCPM rates compared to other formats, users tend to prefer them because they are less intrusive and don't interrupt the user experience on your apps.

Banners are a simple way to generate income because, among other things, they refresh or update periodically. As users read articles or interact with the site, banner ads are displayed based on their interests, without significantly interrupting their flow of interaction with the website. This is a key feature that makes banner ads more tolerated by most users.

What is banner advertising?

Banner advertising is when creatives are displayed through static or animated images in a section of articles or apps, with the hope of capturing the user's attention and encouraging them to interact by clicking on it. Banners are typically placed in the sidebars, top, or bottom of the website to draw the user's attention to the ad.

What are banner ads used for?

Banner ads are primarily used as a digital marketing strategy to achieve objectives related to promoting brands, products, or services. The main reasons they are used are as follows:

  1. Increase brand visibility: Banners help with brand branding by displaying visually appealing elements related to the brand, such as slogans, logos, and recently trending or highlighted products sold by the advertising brand.

  2. Promote products and/or services: Banners are very useful for highlighting trending products or services that the brand wants to promote, whether they are trending in searches or sales. Companies also use banners to build anticipation for upcoming product launches. This is particularly beneficial because the sense of anticipation encourages users to click for more information.

  3. Maximize reach at a low cost: Since banners are very cost-effective compared to other advertising formats, they are still widely used by brand advertisers. Additionally, banners still hold a large market share, which is why many advertisers continue to take advantage of this ad format to ensure their digital marketing campaigns reach any part of the world with tighter budgets.

How are banner ads paid?

Banner ads are paid for each view generated by a user, with unique views within a 24-hour period being valued higher. These values are measured in a metric called eCPM, which represents the value of 1000 views of that banner space. When a user views a banner ad for the first time, it typically has a higher value than when seen for the second or third time, as advertisers are more interested in paying for unique views of their ads.

How to prevent users from ignoring banner ads?

Due to the overuse and abuse of banner ads by some publishers, over time, users have learned to coexist with them or understand that banners are always "there." As a result, banner ads are often ignored by people, and we have developed resistance to banner advertising over the years.

To counter this drawback, it is recommended to create GIFs or animated banners. Animated banners can show more content in the same space and can better showcase a product, for example, by animating a 3D view of it. This way, when the user sees it, they can observe it more completely, which may encourage them to click on the banner.

What is the minimum CPM we pay on Adstronger for banner ads?

At Adstronger, we pay our publishers a minimum CPM of approximately $0.2 for banner ads. It’s important to note that this is based on unique user views on the network every 24 hours.

The minimum CPM is an approximation because it also depends on the volatility of the cryptocurrency used for payment. For example, we may pay a CPM of 0.2 Ronin when the value of Ronin is $1, but if the value of Ronin increases to $2, and you haven't sold your Ronin yet, then your target CPM would be approximately $0.4.

What are unique banner impressions?

Unique banner impressions are those where a user from a specific IP views a banner ad in any of the available sizes (728x90, 300x600, 160x600, 300x250). When this happens, it is said that the user has generated a unique impression for that banner size. At the end of the day, unique impressions reset, and if the user views the banner again, they generate a new unique impression. This type of impression typically holds a higher value for both publishers and advertisers, as the value of impressions generated by the user decreases proportionally with the number of impressions.

Banner impressions can also be unique at the campaign level. For example, when a campaign is shown to a user for the first time during the day, that impression is the one for which the advertiser will pay the highest amount. This is because discovering new users is often one of the most sought-after objectives for advertisers. Otherwise, they use retargeting techniques to better reach users who have already seen their ads or visited the destination website without generating the necessary interaction, such as a purchase.
